The Secondary Intraocular Lens Implantation Course is dedicated to advanced techniques for managing aphakia and insufficient capsular support through secondary IOL fixation.
Participants gain practical experience with contemporary fixation methods, including scleral fixation techniques such as the Yamane technique, flange fixation methods, and iris-fixated intraocular lenses including Artisan/Verisyse implantation. The course also addresses patient selection, surgical planning, lens positioning, anterior vitrectomy and management of vitreous prolapse.
Through extensive hands-on training, participants develop the technical skills required for safe secondary IOL implantation while learning how to select the most appropriate fixation strategy according to individual anatomical and clinical circumstances.
