Phacoemulsification – Advanced Course

The Advanced Cataract Surgery Course is intended for surgeons who already perform cataract surgery independently and wish to refine their surgical technique while expanding their ability to manage challenging clinical situations.

Building upon fundamental phacoemulsification skills, the course addresses advanced nucleus disassembly strategies, optimization of phaco parameters, management of difficult cataracts, anterior vitrectomy, intraocular lens exchange, surgery in complex ocular anatomy and management of intraoperative complications.

Participants receive individualized feedback from internationally recognized experts and have extensive opportunities to practice advanced surgical manoeuvres in a realistic wetlab environment. The course emphasizes surgical decision-making, efficiency, precision and complication management, enabling participants to perform complex cataract procedures with greater confidence and safety.

2. Cataract Surgery Course – Advanced

What is included in the registration fee?

Your registration fee for iSCOPE: Prague Ophthalmic Wetlab includes everything you need for a complete educational and social experience, except accommodation:

  • Full participation in the selected wetlab module (unlimited access to surgical practice with porcine eyes)
  • Comprehensive educational materials and course documentation
  • Daily catering during the wetlab: two coffee breaks and lunch each day
  • Optional but fully included social and networking activities, such as:
     
    • Evening Guided Tour of Historic Prague
    • Guided Clinic Tour – visit to a diagnostic and surgical eye clinic based on the principles of lean management (optional)
    • Breakfast with experts – video breakfast to support surgical skills (optional)
    • Gala Dinner and Diploma Ceremony, followed by networking and social evening

Special accommodation rates are available at the congress hotel (Grandium Hotel Prague), where the course will be held.

CME / Credit Accreditation

The iSCOPE Prague Ophthalmic Wetlab 2026 is currently in the process of applying for European CME accreditation through EACCME® (UEMS).

The accreditation application is currently pending approval. The final number of European CME credits (ECMEC®s) will be announced once the accreditation process has been completed.

CME credits will apply only to the eligible educational components of the event, including lectures, demonstrations and wetlab sessions. Accommodation, travel and social activities are not included in the accredited educational programme.

Following approval, participants will be informed about the requirements for attendance, evaluation and the issuance of CME certificates.

⚠️ Please note: Travel and accommodation expenses are not covered as part of the CME accreditation.

Note: The Basic & Advanced Phaco courses and the Vitrectomy course will start on Wednesday, October 14, 2025. The DMEK/DSAEK and Secondary IOL Implantation Techniques courses will start on Thursday, October 15, 2025. The daily schedule is shown for the Basic and Advanced Cataract Course, but the timing of the days is the same for all courses.
