Dr. Fabian Alexander Wozar, MD, FEBO, is a Consultant Ophthalmologist at Eye Clinic Herisau, Switzerland. His clinical practice encompasses a broad spectrum of ophthalmology, with particular expertise in cataract surgery, oculoplastic surgery, medical retina, neuro-ophthalmology, and pediatric ophthalmology. In addition to his clinical work, he serves as a faculty member in international cataract surgery wetlabs, supporting the practical training of ophthalmic surgeons through hands-on surgical education.
Dr. Wozar completed his medical studies at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen, Germany, and subsequently undertook his ophthalmology residency at the Department of Ophthalmology, Eberhard Karls University Tübingen, one of Germany’s leading academic ophthalmology centres. He later completed a fellowship focused on extraocular surgery, neuro-ophthalmology, and cataract surgery, further expanding his expertise in both surgical and clinical ophthalmology. He achieved board certification in ophthalmology in 2022 and successfully passed the European Board of Ophthalmology (EBO) examination.
Alongside his clinical career, Dr. Wozar has maintained a strong commitment to research. He has participated in numerous Phase I–IV clinical trials as a sub-investigator, deputy investigator, and principal investigator, while also contributing to ophthalmic studies involving advanced ocular imaging and surgical techniques. Since 2025, he has been affiliated with the Department of Ophthalmology at Eberhard Karls University Tübingen as a Research Fellow.
